Places to Visit in Singapore on a Budget


Even though Singapore is one of the top most expensive city in the world, there are still plenty of free things you can do while you’re there. For those who doesn’t know where Singapore is located, it is located in South East Asia, or more specifically located on the south of Peninsular Malaysia and east of West Sumatra (Indonesia), just across the Strait of Malacca.

 

  1. Singapore Botanic Gardens

 

The garden is home to more than 10,000 species of flora. With more than 150 years of history, the 82-hectare Gardens holds a unique and significant place in the history of Singapore and the region. The garden has been listed as one of UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2015. It is the first and only tropical botanic garden on the UNESCO’s World Heritage List. It opens daily from 5am until midnight. Do not worry about an admission’s fee because it is free.

 

  1. Gardens by the Bay (outdoor garden)

 

Gardens by the Bay has quickly become a must-see attraction in Singapore. The attraction consists of three distinctive waterfront gardens - Bay South Garden, Bay East Garden and Bay Central Garden. With Bay South Garden being the largest among the three. The main attraction in Bay South Garden is the alien-like Supertree Groves. A Supertree is a vertical garden that is home to more than 300 species of plants. It opens daily from 5am until 2am and is best to visit during the night when the Supertrees are lit up.

 

  1. MacRitchie Treetop Walk

 

The MacRitchie Treetop Walk at MacRitchie Reservoir is a free-standing suspension bridge spanning the 250 meters from Bukit Peirce to Bukit Kalan, the two highest points in MacRitchie Park. It opens from Tuesday until Friday from 9am until 5pm. On weekends and public holidays, it opens from 8.30 until 5pm.

One of the best spots in Singapore to enjoy panoramic views of the city, harbor and the Southern Islands.  

 

  1. Marina Bay Sands Boardwalk

 

Marina Bay Sands Boardwalk gives you an amazing view of Singapore Central Business Skyline. It’s best if you visit at 6pm if you want to watch the sunset. Experience the magic of Spectra, an impressive water and light shows that starts at 8pm until 9.30 daily.
